About The BEGINNER course
Not just a course.
A crew.
The Beginner course at Oslo Seilakademi is designed for you who want to take your first real steps into sailing. Over an intensive weekend on the Oslo Fjord, you’ll learn the fundamentals of sailing a large yacht while working as part of a coordinated crew.
The course focuses on practical experience on the water. From the first hour onboard, participants take part in real manoeuvres, navigation basics, and onboard teamwork. The goal is simple: by the end of the weekend, you’ll understand how a sailing yacht operates and feel confident continuing your sailing journey.

Training area
All practical training takes place in the Oslo Fjord, where participants sail in real conditions including changing winds and active boat traffic.
